Maybe I'm just getting old, but I found that first step to be a doozy. The good news, so did the wife. so she was all in on the power step installation.

The installation was pretty straight forward, the documentation is well written and easy to follow. Make sure you all the specified drill bits before you start as a couple are may not be in the ordinary tool box. I also needed the tap that they said may be optional. They do give you a rivnut tool, if you do not already have one. I did at least one using their supplied tool.
Ass seen in the above picture, you may be able to use existing studs, or need to install your own rivnut. Or in some cases just tape what is there.
The wiring harness was well done, and pretty easy to install. I did purchase the pass thru harness so I could still have a can bus port.
