Well, it doesn't eliminate it, but it does enable yo make the default start setting to be "off". Without this device, you need to remember to manually turn off this feature, if you do not want your vehicle to turn itself off at stoplights.
This device installs on your CANbus network. The pigtail goes between the existing gateway module connection. My belief is that it just sends out the proper message based on the state it was when turned off. This holds until you power off normally. You can turn it back on if you wanted. Now the van doesn't turn off when pulling up to stop light.
